Do you dream of moving with ease, free from chronic pain and discomfort? Are you looking to enhance your athletic performance in activities like running or working out at the gym? The Posture 101 Workshop is here to help you achieve just that, by addressing the root causes of your misalignment.

Contrary to popular belief, good posture isn't about standing tall with shoulders pulled back and a chest held high, nor is it about holding abstract yoga positions. True posture is about how you hold yourself in your natural resting state and how you move during everyday activities.

​

For a variety of reasons, we often stop using or limit the use of certain areas of our bodies. This can throw our entire alignment off balance. Even something as seemingly minor as a big toe that isn't moving optimally can have huge repercussions throughout the whole body! This misalignment can lead to reduced athletic performance, chronic pain, health issues, or a sense of disconnection from our bodies.

At our Posture 101 Workshop you'll dive into the world of aligned posture. Throughout the session, you'll be making subtle adjustments within the body, allowing it to explore movements and ranges it may not have used in years. These small, refined movements can lead to significant improvements in how you feel and perform. 

​

This workshop isn't just about movement. We'll blend practical exercises with educational insights, giving you the tools to realign your own posture from the ground up and an insight as to why you are out of alignment in the first place. An awareness of your own posture and patterns is essential to be able to reset your posture and an understanding of how the body is connected will allow you to connect to optimum movement.

Here's what you'll learn:

  • The basics of your body's mechanics and how different joints/structures can move in three different planes of movement.

  • How an injury or surgery (no matter how minor) anywhere in your body, or a repeated posture, can lead to misalignment and movement issues.

  • To evaluate your own movement abilities both in a resting state and while walking.

  • Exercises to enhance mobility and strength in crucial parts of the body, helping you find better balance and stability.

  • Strategies to spot and fix common postural issues through mindful movement.

  • Tips for weaving postural awareness into your everyday activities and routines.

The workshop will be a small group, with just a limited number of spots available. That way, everyone gets a chance to receive observation of their body including some hands on feedback and adjustments.
