Do you sometimes feel stiff, achy, or out of sync in your own body? Maybe movement doesn’t feel as easy as it used to, or you’re simply curious about how posture affects the way you move every day. Posture 101 is designed to help you understand how your body organises itself - not just when standing still, but during everyday movement.

Rethink Posture

Posture isn’t about forcing yourself to “stand up straight” or pulling your shoulders back. Instead, it’s about how the different parts of your body align, move and coordinate with each other. Over time, habits, injuries, repetitive movements and daily routines can influence this organisation and alignment. Certain joints may move less, other areas may compensate, and the body can gradually settle into patterns that feel stiff or restricted. Even small restrictions, like a stiff big toe, can ripple up through the body and affect how we move and feel.

This interactive, hands-on workshop you’ll explore how your body aligns and moves, and begin to discover ways to introduce more movement options and awareness.

In the Workshop You’ll:

  • Learn how joints move in three dimensions and why this matters for everyday movement

  • Explore how habits and past injuries can influence posture and alignment

  • Observe your own movement patterns with guided assessments

  • Practise simple movement and awareness exercises you can continue at home

What to Expect:

This is a practical, movement-led session, not a lecture. You’ll spend most of the session exploring movement through guided exercises and simple experiments. You’ll leave with a clearer understanding of how your body organises itself, along with simple practices you can continue exploring in daily life.

Group sizes are kept small so there’s space for individual guidance and questions.
