BIOMECHANICS & MOVEMENT COACHING

Helping You Move Freely, Improve Mobility, and Live Pain-Free

WHY BE ALIGNED?

When the different areas of your life are in harmony, life flows with ease. Similarly, when your body is aligned and moves as it should, lmovement feels effortless and life feels easier. Simple tasks flow naturally, and you feel balanced and in control.

Just like a clock struggles when one cog isn’t working properly, your body compensates when parts are out of sync — whether from poor posture, muscle imbalances, or old injuries. These compensations can lead to stiffness, limited mobility, and chronic pain, affecting not only how you move but also your energy, confidence, and overall well-being.

Through alignment-based movement techniques, including exercises inspired by the cog principle, you can restore optimal alignment, move more freely, and reduce pain, helping your body work in harmony and feel more balanced

What Is Movement Coaching?

Your body is designed to move with ease, but when pain, injury, poor posture, or repetitive habits throw things off, making movement feel restricted, stiff, or even painful. Whether you’re struggling with chronic pain (such as lower back pain, frozen shoulder, plantar fasciitis, or tennis elbow), recovering mobility after injury or surgery, or looking to improve performance in the gym or on the field, alignment-based movement coaching can help.

Perhaps you’re stuck in the same movement patterns every day — hours at a desk, always favouring one side of your body, or compensating for an old injury. Maybe your confidence in movement has been affected, or you want to future-proof your body with prehab to prevent pain and mobility issues - because prehab is always better than rehab.

I help you understand your body’s movement patterns and provide the tools to restore balance, reduce pain, and move with more ease and confidence.

How It Works

We begin by identifying restricted or missing movements that may be limiting mobility or causing discomfort. Then, using simple movements that focus on posture, gait, and whole-body alignment - we work to restore your body's natural movement patterns.

It’s about giving you the knowledge and tools to move well for life, so you don’t fall back into the same pain or movement struggles. As your body moves better, you’ll feel lighter, freer and more in control.

I have seen and experienced first-hand the profound impact that small changes in movement can have. The right adjustments can make all the difference, and I am passionate about helping others experience these same life-changing results.

Why Work With Me?

I am a fully qualified Level 3 Personal Trainer and Massage Therapist, with additional certification in the AiM Flow Motion Model - alignment-based movement and biomechanics that helps restore natural, pain-free motion.

MY STORY

How I Got Into Movement Coaching

Hi, I'm Yanushka Bagiolo (or Nush), the YB behind YB aligned. Here's a little background as to why I became a movement coach.

I was 11 years old when I first saw a specialist about my back pain. They couldn’t find a clear reason for it, and that was just the start of a long and frustrating journey. My lower back pain would flare up regularly - sometimes so severely that I couldn't even get out of bed!

Over the years, I saw specialists, doctors, and physiotherapists, undergoing countless tests, scans, and assessments, but no one could find anything "wrong" with me. Some found mild disc degeneration and slight curvatures in my spine, but I was assured these were normal and shouldn't be causing pain.

In the meantime, I tried everything - massage, acupuncture, myofascial release. These treatments helped briefly, but the relief never lasted more than a couple of days before the pain returned.

Then, at 37 years old, an orthopaedic specialist told me that as long as I stayed on painkillers for the rest of my life, I wouldn’t be in pain. That was not the answer I was willing to accept Right then and there, I knew I had to find another way!

The Turning Point

Six months later, through research (and maybe a little divine intervention!), I discovered Gary Ward, the founder of Anatomy in Motion. His approach focuses on identifying missing or restricted movements in the body and using corrective movements to restore natural alignment - taking pressure off the areas causing pain.

Even just hearing Gary speak on a podcast, I could tell his method was different. It made sense in a way nothing else had before. I had to learn more.

Gary primarily trains practitioners (from PTs to podiatrists) in his methods, so I sought out a local practitioner who had trained with him (see below). After just a few weeks, my chronic back pain significantly improved, something that years of conventional treatment had failed to do.

For so long, I had felt like something was missing in the approach of the professionals I had seen. I had even asked, “Could there be something I’m doing that’s causing my pain?” but was always told no.

Through this new movement journey I learned that even the smallest misalignment - like one bone in your toe being out of place - can affect the whole body and cause massive pain. All I could think was: "Why has no one told me this before?!"

My Training Journey

From 2021 to early 2024, I trained with The Ixchel System (Get Into Your Body Methodology) as part of my learning and client experience, working alongside other practitioners to deliver weekly online classes and in-person workshops, to student all over the world. This start of my journey helped me understand my own pain journey and inspired me to pursue movement coaching. While this was an important part of my development, I no longer practise The Ixchel System.

Since 2023, I have also been studying Gary Ward’s Anatomy in Motion and Flow Motion Model, alongside further study with other movement specialists, deepening my knowledge and shaping the foundation of my current coaching practice.

Now, as a fully qualified Personal Trainer and certified in the Anatomy in Motion Flow Motion Model, I work with clients one-on-one and in groups, helping them move pain-free again.

Why I Do This Work

Like so many people, I used to think that living with pain was just part of life, an inevitable part of getting older. I now know it doesn’t have to be that way.

I wish I could go back and tell my 11-year-old self what I know now. Instead, I’m here to share this knowledge with others, helping people take back ownership of their bodies and live pain-free lives!
